Walkspace: Contemporary Walking Art exhibition 2026

All about our new exhibition this autumn.

We’re delighted to announce that our second group show as a walking arts collective launches at •nook• gallery in Birmingham this autumn, running from 15-25 October.

Walkspace is a West Midlands-based co-operative of artists, writers, psychogeographers, photographers, creative practitioners and walkers exploring the many ways walking can inspire creative practice and connect people with place. We support a community of artists and practitioners through collaboration, mutual support and the creation of new work, and organise walks, workshops, film nights, performances, exhibitions and community projects. Our approach to walking is broad and experimental, encompassing everything from art and psychogeography to nature, social, community and solo walks.

Our second show: Walkspace: Contemporary Walking Art runs from 15-25th October at •nook• gallery, 25c Institute Road, Kings Heath, Birmingham, B14 7EG. There will be an opening private view and various walkshops to attend.

More details on these and how to book a walkshop below…

And a big thank you to •nook• gallery for their hosting and support.

Be among the first to see the show. The private view is from 7-9pm on Friday 16 October. See you there!

An invitation to walk

The Walkspace 2026 exhibition aims to open up new ways for people to think about, experience and interact with both urban areas and rural landscapes, and to provide ideas and inspiration around the act of moving (whatever that means for you) from one place to another.
